About the 25 Voyager

About the 25 Voyager

With its offshore capable hull design and commercial quality weatherproof center cabin the 25 Voyager provides comfort, convenience, safety and outstanding performance no matter what weather conditions you decide to tackle. The 25 Voyager is identical to the 23’ model except for the aft section of the cockpit and transom. The larger cockpit of the 25’ model comes standard with a 48” wide rear fold-away bench seat that also serves as a bolster when fishing.

Integrated into the transom is a large convenient fishbox/ storage locker that drains overboard. We spent over a year testing the performance characteristics of the full width fiberglass hull extension that is integral to all our 25’ models and kept refining the design until we succeeded in achieving our goal of ensuring that all the impressive ride and performance characteristics of the 23 Voyager were duplicated in the 25 footer.

Single or Twin Engines

The full width stern platform can handle single or twin outboards up to a total boat maximum of 300 HP, it also serves as an excellent swim platform when equipped with an optional swim ladder. Based on the testing and performance characteristics conducted on both the 25 Challenger and 25 Patriot models we estimate that the 25 Voyager will reach a top speed of between 42-47 MPH with maximum horsepower, but like all Maritimes it will also perform well with modest horsepower for excellent fuel efficiency.

Walk Around Center Cabin

The Voyager model is equipped with a fully enclosed walk-around center cabin that provides all the benefits found in a center console with the weather protection of a full cabin. The pilothouse seats two adults, stands three and has 6’4” headroom. Access to all areas of the deck from the center cabin is quick and easy and should you find yourself in rough water you will appreciate the well positioned stainless grab rails that provide hand holds around the entire perimeter of the deck.

The cabin has great ventilation, both the front and rear windows open, the doors open 20″ wide and there is a roof hatch that blows air directly behind your head when underway. Additionally, there are two opening side ports in the cuddy and the rooftop has graceful overhangs all around for sun and rain protection.

With the doors and windows closed the pilothouse is a safe quiet sanctuary. To enhance daytime visibility, the dash is coated with a flat finish to reduce glare onto the windows and for improved nighttime clarity, all windows are tint free. The dash has an electronics gauge pod, a chart table to port, a fiddle to prevent items from sliding off the dash and a grab rail.

Above the helm there is a radio box containing the wiper and electrical switch panels. Aft on the overhead is a handy shelf for small gear, such as flares and first aid kits. Convenient red/white dome lights are located in the pilothouse and cuddy.

Standard on the Voyager are two-speed, self-parking, full-sweep commercial grade windshield wipers. They have high quality pantograph arms and blades that are of maximum length to clear as much glass as possible.

What makes the Voyager unique is the design and quality of its sliding side entry doors. They are all-welded aluminum, insulated, powder coated white, have “easy grab” outside handrails and a partial lock-open feature that permits the doors to be cracked open 3″. It’s not uncommon to “crack” the leeward door for ventilation even in the rain. Both doors are lockable. With the Voyager there is no need to snap and unsnap canvas curtains, when you leave this boat for the day you simply lock the doors.

Just aft of the platform is the console front seat which comfortably seats two, leaning back against the pilothouse’s curved surface is surprisingly comfortable. A bow platform cushion and front seat cushion are popular options.

Located in the rear cockpit behind the center cabin is a functional Tackle Station complete with louvered doors and stainless locksets. Extremely handy for storing fishing lures, pliers, gloves, etc. the compartment is large enough to accommodate seven 5 gallon buckets or a good sized cooler.

100% Composite Construction- Built for Maximum Protection

All of our models are manufactured with 100% composite materials and utilize an all fiberglass grid system firmly bonded to the hull to provide additional strength and deliver a solid ride. The foam filled grid and floor sections beneath the floor not only make the boat “unsinkable” but also add stiffness and dampen hull noise. Although not required to do so we incorporate the same U.S. Coast Guard flotation requirements mandatory for smaller boats to all our models providing you and your family safety and security every time you ride in a Maritime.

There is a choice for an all white interior cockpit or the traditional Maritime solid grey interior, both which utilize the highest quality gel coats for maximum durability and wear resistance. An aggressive non-skid deck pattern combined with a self bailing cockpit makes the boat easy to clean and maintain. Almost all the rain from a heavy thunderstorm will quickly drain out the stern scuppers creating little reason to worry about a flooded bilge.

All Maritime hulls start to plane at unusually low speeds of 12 -14 MPH; this features not only helps generate excellent fuel efficiency but allows you to operate efficiently at low speeds in heavy weather. The 8’6” beam, wide 6” chines and moderate 14 degree aft deadrise provide incredible stability and a shallow draft of 14”. The flat running characteristic of the Maritime hull and the 50 degree deadrise of the bow allow the boat to efficiently part the waves while the rounded bow and extreme flare deflects spray away from passengers and crew.

Maritime’s strong, stable seaworthy hull designed combined with the safe, comfortable Voyager center cabin delivers uncompromised performance and protection to those that want the ability to conquer the elements not merely survive them.
