Tropical Storm Henri – Hurricane Watch

As you may know, Charlestown and Southern Rhode Island is currently under a Hurricane Watch as Tropical Storm Henri is forecast to strengthen to a hurricane and make landfall on the Rhode Island coast Sunday afternoon.

The decision is yours, but OHM respectfully asks that you follow the below guidance:

If you’d like your boat to be hauled, please call us 401-213-4189 and plan to deliver your boat to OHM by 11am on Saturday, August 21st.

Due to high volume on the OHM launch ramp in preparation for the storm, the ramp will not be available for public use and will be restricted to OHM employees only at this time.

If you plan to enter the Charlestown breachway, there are certain tides and times that will be better than others, especially as hurricane swell increases.

Today, Friday, between 4:30pm-6:30pm, and tomorrow, Saturday, before 10am are the best windows to navigate the breachway safely.

After 10am Saturday, due to swell, potential storm surge, and outgoing tide conditions, customers may not be able to safely navigate the breachway.

OHM does not advise customers to navigate the Charlestown breachway after 10am tomorrow, until the storm passes.

Stay safe!
