Service Technician

  • Department: Service Department
  • Reports to: Service Manager

Ocean House Marina (OHM) is a full-service marina specializing in marine recreation,
sales and service, serving the coastal community of southern New England. OHM provides the
highest quality of service to customers by upholding a high degree of professionalism, honesty,
and integrity. OHM is seeking a fulltime outboard Service Technician assigned to diagnose and
repair boats and engines in addition to performing scheduled maintenance and conducting
quality checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned marine engines and operational
    equipment and make necessary corrections and adjustments
  • Review assigned work orders for completeness and appropriate time allowance; report all
    discrepancies to Service Manager prior to commencement of job and to make constructive suggestions for improvement
  • Complete assigned work as efficiently and adequately as possible
  • Prepare complete estimates to Service Manager for additional suggested work
  • Utilize service software to update user information and header on work order with boat,
    outboard, and/or trailer information
  • Attend professional training programs when required
  • Notify management of equipment malfunctions, quality problems, and take corrective
    action when possible or suggest remedy
  • Maintain housekeeping standards, both physical and administrative
  • Additional duties to be assigned by Service Manager and/or General Manager

Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Must have prior experience in mechanics, preferably in marine mechanics; preference given
    to those with Yamaha outboard experience
  • Must furnish their own hand tools essential for the job
  • Must be able to get along with others
  • Good health and physical mobility

Bottom Painter/Boat Detailer

  • Department: Service Department
  • Reports to: Service Manager

Responsibilities:
• Complete assigned work as efficiently and adequately as possible
• Prepare boat bottoms by scraping, sanding, grinding, and cleaning
• Apply multiple coats of epoxy primer, anti-fouling paints, etc.
• Clean, buff, polish, and wax boat interiors and exteriors in preparation of delivery to
customer and prior to winter storage
• Keep workspace clean and organized at all times
• Occasionally assist with hauling and launching vessels
• Notify management of equipment malfunctions, quality problems, and take corrective
action when possible or suggest remedy
• Additional duties to be assigned by Service Manager and/or General Manager
Qualifications and Expertise:
• Bottom painting and/or boat detailing experience preferred
• High attention to detail, precision, and accuracy
• Know how to work safely in a shop environment, maintain a clean work environment and
adhere to required safety policies
• Mechanically inclined; possess general skills and knowledge related to marine field a plus
• Must be able to get along with others
• Good health and physical mobility

Ships Store Clerk

  • Department: Store Department
  • Reports to: Store Manager

Overview: Ocean House Marina (OHM) is a full-service marina specializing in marine recreation,
sales, and service, serving the coastal community of southern New England. OHM provides the
highest quality of service to customers by upholding a high degree of professionalism, honesty,
and integrity. OHM is seeking multiple seasonal Ships Store Clerks to join their team.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Store Manager in scheduling and maintaining rental boat fleet, guests arriving and
departing from their slips, and customers in fueling vessels
• Ensure boat rental paperwork is complete, orient customers upon arrival, wash boats upon
customer departure
• Check customers out from Ships Store
• Maintain aesthetic of the waterfront area
• Provide customers with experience to maintain high customer satisfaction
• Notify management of equipment malfunctions, quality problems, and take corrective
action when possible or suggest remedy
Qualifications:
• Capable of efficient planning and organizing
• Must be able to get along with others
• Administrative skill and ability
• Computer skills to include ability to understand and learn marina dealership software
• Good health and physical mobility
